Practice makes perfect. The new weapon skill system tracks your proficiency with every weapon class in the game — melee, pistols, shotguns, SMGs, rifles, snipers, and grenades.

Every time you fight with a weapon, you gain experience in its class. As your skill level rises, you deal more damage with that weapon type. A seasoned knife fighter hits harder than a beginner holding the same blade.
